Limes & Lycopene is 1
Posted by kathryn in Blogging
Today is my blogging anniversary. After much thinking, researching and blog reading, exactly one year ago today I wrote my first post on Limes & Lycopene.
Looking back on that first month of posts, I can see how much my blog has changed and how I’ve grown in confidence as a blogger. While in that first month I did touch on some subjects that have been continuing themes on Limes & Lycopene, the writing was tentative and uncertain.
Despite a couple of stretches of writing-block, I’ve become a much more consistent poster and am more certain of the themes and directions I want Limes & Lycopene to take. Over the last year I’ve also changed clinic and become much more professionally happy, stimulated and satisfied.
I spent most of the weekend at the wonderful Sydney Writers’ Festival. However, it seems appropriate that in amongst the writers and forums, I had brunch yesterday morning with a wonderful group of Sydney bloggers. I met Veggie Friendly for the first time and re-acquainted myself with Morsels & Musings, Cucina Rebecca, Grab Your Fork and Pickles Perks.
I love writing Limes & Lycopene, but more than that, blogging has put me in contact with an ever growing group of interesting, vibrant and lovely people. From Sydney bloggers, to others all around the globe, I appreciate the contacts and relationships that blogging has given me.
A big, heartfelt thank you to all of you – my readers – for your company, your emails and your comments. A big thank you also to Richard for his IT and personal support – Limes & Lycopene simply couldn’t run without you.
I have some exciting plans for Limes & Lycopene over the next few months. There are going to be some changes round here and new features. However, for today I’m going to be reflecting back and concentrating on the last year of blogging.

Happy Blog Birthday.
Well done.
Happy Bloggiversary!
I agree. Blogging has brought forth a whole network of new fooding friends, and I look back on my blog and appreciate how far it’s come. I look forward to seeing the reveal of your new plans. Long may your blogging journey continue!
ps. Brunch was yum!
Thanks Lucy and Helen. And yes, Helen, you’re right – brunch was beautiful. I shall look forward to reading everyone’s reviews!
Hi Kathryn
My how fast you’ve grown-up! Congratulations on turning one. It’s so nice to have a food blogger amongst us who has the inside scoop on nutrition and food debates.
Thanks for coming along to brunch – it was great to finally meet you.
K
I can’t believe your blog has only been around for 1 year. You seem so much more established than that.
Congratulations and good luck for the coming year!
I don’t know what changes you have planned but I’d love to see the Subscribe to Comments plugin. I’ve added it to my blog and have found people come back as new comments are published.
Thanks Kate and also for organising the fabulous brunch.
Andrea, the subscribe to comments plugin is one I’ve been noticing a lot recently and have been considering adding on – it’s such a good idea for maintaining the conversation. I’m just working out how the changes are going to occur, but I’ll add that into the mix.
hurrah! happy bloggy birthday. as you may have gathered from my constant linking i am a huge fan and have learned so much from your writing. Blog on, baby! :)
Thanks heaps Shauna. Not to make this too much of a love-fest . . . but I am also a big fan of your blog!
