What I'm eating

  • Friday lunch: rye bread sandwich with inches of baby spinach, mushrooms, cheese, artichoke hearts
  • Thursday afternoon: eating an apple and some seed filled crackers
  • Thursday lunch: the final leftover soy bombs, with a big pile of rocket leaves & some tahini dressing.
  • Tues lunch with my parents. Pide bread sandwich with avocado, pesto, greens & fetta. Positively delicious. And a coffee.
  • Tuesday breakfast: kamut toast (from Sonoma) with tahini and mum's home-made plum jam

Off to Melbourne, but still blogging

Posted by kathryn in Miscellanea

I’m off to Melbourne today. Very excited about my trip.

Haven’t been down there for about ten years. So I’m looking forward to updating myself on as much of the health, food and natural therapies stuff as possible.

I’m going to be meeting up with some practitioners and taking a look at some nutrition and naturopathic centres. This is particularly interesting now I’ve set up my own clinic.

Richard is also coming down, to attend the geek-fest that is Linux Conf.

I’ll still be blogging this week. I’ve got some Q & A Month posts planned and if it’s possible, I’ll also let you know what I’m up to.

Have fun in Melbourne, Kathryn :)

For a vegetarian recommendation with a view, you can’t go past Soul Mama at St Kilda Baths:

I hope you have a good time down here!

I was just reading something which I thought would amuse you:

Oh my.

Thanks everyone, am having a ball down in Melbourne. Fiona, I was in St Kilda just the other day, saw fairy penguins – very exciting. I did see Soul Mama, but it was too late for lunch and too early for dinner. But it’s lovely to see so much excellent vegetarian food in Melbourne.

Hope you enjoyed Melbourne. I really like reading your blog and have recommended it to many workmates. My husband is also attending the Linux conference too.

Oh Joanne, that link did make me laugh a lot. That’s a frightening amount of food. The size of Antarctica indeed.

Joanne 04 February, 2008

Fairy penguins in St Kilda?? I’ve never heard of that, I had always thought you had to go to over to Port Phillip island to see them. (I’ve been in Melb a year now, haven’t seen them yet though.)

Joanne 04 February, 2008

Sorry about the double post!

kathryn 04 February, 2008

Yep, you can see them off the end of the pier at St Kilda. If you go past the kiosk, on the left hand side, and on to the breakwate there’s a sign about fairy penguins and water rats. You can also stepdown to a little boardwalk and sometimes see them in between the rocks. I was there in the morning, on a grey day, so there were hardly any people around and saw two. There’s more information here.
