  • Spinach with tomato & tofu: Lovely recipe from A Vegetarian in the Middle East teaming tofu with tomatoes and Indian spices. There are a few ingredients, mostly spices, but it’s a simple recipe. Thanks to A Life (Time) of Cooking for pointing it out to me. * Eating to fuel exercise: I liked this piece from the Well blog about eating pre and post exercise. It’s a basic run-down of the issues, with some good practical advice and …

There have been whispers. Those of you who read Limes & Lycopene or follow me on Twitter will know I’ve been working with Lucy on a special project – all very secret squirrel. Well no more. Farmers' Market vegetables?

Posted by kathryn in Labels & advertising and Vegetables

There’s nothing like half an hour trawling through the supermarket, looking at the best of food manufacturing, to get me fired up. Posted by kathryn in Miscellanea

Alternatively in the rush of work, kids, public transport and daily life, food can get pushed to the bottom of the list – meaning you end up eating take-away or frozen meals again. Are you fed up with this …

I am regularly asked questions about butter and margarine. In particular, which one is healthier? It’s something I often struggle to answer, because it’s not black and white. At the Food Coach Joanna McMillan-Price has written a piece setting out the pros and cons of both margarine and butter. And I quite like her conclusions. She also articulates one of my butter dilemmas: bq. As a fairly passionate believer in eating ‘real’ foods as much as possible I have …
